Welcome to my playground, and thanks for dropping by! This is where I'm supposed to tell you what this site is all about, but let me first tell you what it is not.
The format doesn't really overlap much with traditional blogs, X threads or other forms of "fast and frequent" content creation outlets. I post articles on a rather irregular basis, and I couldn't care less about "going viral" or "driving engagement". I have no desire to write clickbait articles, feud with other writers, put out infuriating and misleading headlines, or engage with every latest fad in a vain attempt to stay relevant. There are already plenty of folks out there who excel in these domains, so it's not exactly a supply-side issue.
But I also don't intend this page to be an austere, matter-of-fact dispatch that reads like a corporate quarterly update or a bureaucratic status report. Whenever I write in my professional capacity, there's a lot of focus on being clear, upfront and transparent to a point where the writer's own personality, quirks and creativity all but disappear. This kind of writing is great for many contexts, and it's also the last thing I'd want to do when I sit down and type in my own free time. Hence, do not be surprised if you encounter questionable puns, idiosyncratic expressions, obscure references and wacky chains of association. There'll be claims stated with too much confidence, backed up by very little (and sometimes nothing at all). Context will occasionally be scarce, and you may have to read between the lines before jumping to conclusions about what my position on an issue is. I'm not trying to willfully obscure what I want to say, but I think of the content on this site as something to be discovered, rather than a collection of neatly excavated arguments.
As to the kind of content you may find here - expect it to be all over the place. There are many subjects I find fascinating, and, perhaps as a consequence, my career has followed anything but a linear trajectory. If this site has any guiding principle at all, it would be the old Socratic maxim - first, appreciate the vastness of your own ignorance. To never stop learning may be an unattainable aspiration, but we don't live to check off the easy boxes, do we?
