Thanks for the reply! I'm not sure we have the same thing in mind here, though. My point was not intended as a claim about the nature of man or the universe, but rather to object to Chang's flawed interference: Some countries got rich without economists being in charge, ergo economics is not needed to decide what good policies are. This is just one massive non sequitur, and I think an obvious one at that.
